The new foreign owners of the State Serum Institute’s vaccine production have big plans for an expansion of the Danish business. New employees, new markets, and new products are on the agenda for AJ Vaccines A/S, which is headed by a former senior partner from NNE Pharmaplan.

This week, Denmark officially waved goodbye to a state-owned vaccine production, as the State Serum Institute (SSI) completed the sale of its vaccine division to AJ Pharma, a part of Saudi conglomerate Aljomiah.

AJ Pharma is the group’s life science division and the company, placed in Malaysia, is busy making an entry on the vaccine market where the Danish division will play a key role. The choice to focus on this segment was made four years ago when Klaus Hermansen worked for NNE Pharmaplan and came into contact with AJ Pharma.
