HardKåre’s handshake proves a lot more golden than assumed
Novo Nordisk published its full annual report this week, revealing that former COO Kåre Schultz left the company with a golden handshake amounting to a lot more than the DKK 41.6 million initially reported.

Novo Nordisk CEO Lars Rebien Sørensen did not try to hide the fact that Kåre Schultz would have liked to take over as chief executive of the Danish drug group, but it was not to be. The Board had other ideas and a restructuring of the top management layer led to the surprising departure of the natural heir to the throne in April of 2015. About a week later, he accepted a job as Chief Executive Officer of another Danish pharma group, Lundbeck.
