New EU patent will benefit life science
It will not become any cheaper to apply for a patent in the EU for drug and medical device companies. But the price will buy you exclusivity on more markets, which means a lot for small startups in particular, says the Confederation of Danish Industry.

A prolonged jostle concerning the fee levels on the coming unitary patent in the EU, which is set to be introduced in most EU countries in 2016, has come to an end – and the result is set to benefit the pharmaceutical and medtech businesses in particular.
