Bacteria mapping might replace antibiotics
Danish scientist have discovered and mapped previously unknown micro organisms and bacteria viruses. The discovery could replace the use of antibiotics and improve treatment and prevention of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, asthma and intestinal diseases.

DTU researchers have identified and mapped 500 previously unknown microorganisms and more than 800 bacterial viruses in the intestinal flora – a discovery that could eventually replace antimicrobial agents and perhaps improve treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes, asthma and certain intestinal disorders.
