Major Danish hearing devices group Widex has brought in a new executive to run subsidiary Widex DK. The new woman in charge is Helle Kriegbaum, who comes from a position in the rehab company Handicare, according to information from the Danish Business Authority. Helle Kriegbaum herself tells Medwatch:

“I have been a director in Handicare for the last five years, where we have carried out a successful turnaround. It has been a really exciting process, and there is still plenty of room for growth in Handicare. But the company is currently so solid that the timing of the new job offer from Widex was perfect.

As General Manager Nordic I will be responsible for Widex’s companies in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. So I will get a more international perspective and responsibility. Moreover, it is exciting to enter a Danish company and industry which both get so much attention on an international scale.”

Quick change

Helle Kriegbaum replaces Ulf. S. Skimmeland, who only held the position for a short period. In connection with the appointment of Kriegbaum, vice president Anders Westermann leaves the executive team in Widex DK as well, according to the Danish Business Authority.

It has not been possible to find any current financial numbers for Widex DK, whose fiscal year ended in April, but - according to data from Jyllands-Posten - the company has presented a deficit in the range DKK 4-5m (USD 712,000-890,000) for each of the past three years.

In light of that, Helle Kriegbaum might need all her experience from the turnaround of Handicare – although she will also take charge of operations in Sweden and Finland, as previously mentioned.
