
A new discovery could spell very good news for the millions of people all over the world who suffer from type 1 diabetes. In a new study, the results of which have just been published in the journal ACS Nano, researchers have shown that a nanogel can be used to register blood sugar levels and secrete the necessary insulin, writes Dagens Pharma.
The new method consists of an injectable gel-like structure that contains nanoparticles attached to enzymes which convert glucose to glucose-acid.
