Scientists in search of improved allergy vaccines

The occurrence of allergy has soared in recent years and about one third of all Danes are now affected. A Danish research council is now posting millions into a new vaccine development project helped by vaccine company ALK- Abello.

The Danish Strategic Research Council DSF (Det Strategiske Forskningsråd)has posted 13 million kroner (USD) in a new project aimed at discovering new allergy vaccines with higher efficacies and fewer side effects, according to a news release on the website of the University of Copenhagen.

The project is run by the university’s faculty of health and medical sciences and the faculty of science, as well as the Danish drug company specializing in allergies, ALK-Abello.
