Medtech-CEO: The first step will be the US

A Danish medtech company is moving into the consumer market for the first time with a container for used insulin needles. The first step will be to capture the American market.

“Today you see the needles being kept or disposed of in many different ways, from jam jars to milk cartons,” says the CEO of Uson Plast, Ulla Øhlenschlæger, about the used needles from diabetics. Her company is on the verge of marketing a brand new product that will do away with those jam jars and milk cartons as needle canisters, the container MySharps.

“We have actually completed the development process now and we are ready to market it. Now, our job is to focus on marketing and selling the product. It is a matter of being in contact with the right partners. It could be manufacturers, suppliers or distributors of insulin pens or other products for diabetes patients.”
