Nano scanner to unlock the mystery of arthritis

Crisp 3D images from a nano scanner, which is 20 times more accurate than traditional CT scanners, is going to provide researchers at Odense University Hospital the opportunity to develop better arthritis treatment.

It does not just reveal the mushy inner part of the bone like traditional micro CT scanners. With a resolution of 500 nanometers, the 3 million-kroner nano scanner can reveal the hard outer-bone tissue of the patients with a level of detail previously unseen.

Researchers at Odense University Hospital are going to use this piece of equipment to develop new, improved treatments and diagnosis methods for arthritis patients.
