New Danish diabetes academy on the way

Researchers at a new, Danish diabetes academy will contribute important knowledge about the highly common disease and help future-proof Danish diabetes research.

More research is needed if we are to slow down and treat the diabetes epidemic. From September 1st University of Southern Denmark will do their part by opening The Danish Diabetes Academy, which is to supply new knowledge about type I and type II diabetes.

The academy will have 300 researchers associated and an initial donation of DKK 201 million from The Novo Nordisk Foundation, according to Danish newspaper Berlingske. The new diabetes research unit will be aimed at 25 areas within diabetes research.
