US government expands use of Danish vaccine
The US government has decided to expand the group of citizens that can be protected with Bavarian Nordic’s small pox vaccine Imvamune in case of a small pox breakout.
The US authorities have until recently reserved the access to treatment with Imvamune for citizens with weakened immune defense systems, such as HIV, AIDS and chemotherapy patients. But that group has now been expanded to include citizens with atopic dermatitis, which is severe, but fairly common skin eczema.
