
The Danish hearing device-company Widex has been nominated for a prestigious award; the European Inventor Award 2012, according to a press release from the company referring to EPO’s announcement of the nominees in Munich.
“Hearing devices and ear plugs have to fit perfectly into the ear of the patient in order to be comfortable and ensure optimal sound conditions. Up until 1990 it required manual precision and numerous fittings, but with widex’s invention of the computer-controlled laser technology CAMISHA, the process was significantly improved. So significantly, that Widex has just been nominated for an award because of the invention,” the company states in a press release.
