Flourishing fund increases biotech and medical equipment investments

Lundbeckfond Ventures, which will invest DKK 1 billion in biotech and medical equipment globally over the next three years, has accelerated company investments in the first quarter of 2012. Danish funds focused on life science are generally speaking financially well-equipped for increased activity – and already getting down to business.

Lundbeckfond Ventures, which recently announced that it will invest DKK 1 billion in biotech and medical equipment over the next three years, has already been boosting investments.

“Last year we carried out three investments, and during the first quarter of 2012 we have carried out three investments. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the level of investment will continue. We invest when opportunities arise and after extensive analyses. But you could definitely say that it is indicative of an increased level of activity,” says CEO of Lundbeckfond Ventures, Mette Kirstine Agger.
