Danish Medicines Council’s new methods sent to hearing

The pharmaceutical industry and other parties are now allowed to influence the Danish Medicines Council's future working processes after a policy draft on items such as usage of quality-adjusted life years is sent to public hearing.

A working group filing under Denmark's administrative regions has concluded its efforts in formulating a new methodological and procedural guideline for the Danish Medicines Council's work in assessing medications.

The new guidelines describe, among other things, how the authority may henceforth incorporate quality-adjusted life years (QALY) while evaluating new medications or making recommendations for treatments of new disease areas.
