Zealand signs million-dollar deal with Alexion and receives DKK 165 million

Danish Zealand Pharma has entered a collaboration agreement with Alexion that brings in the Danish biotech firm an upfront payment of DKK 165 million (USD 25 million). Depending on milestones, the deal can result in over DKK 4 billion (USD 610 million) for Zealand.

US-based Alexion wants to use Danish Zealand Pharma's competences in peptide-based therapies for discovering new drugs, writes Zealand in a press release.

As part of the new partnership deal, Zealand will receive an upfront payment of USD 25 million. At the same time, Alexion makes a USD 15 million equity investment in the Danish biotech firm.
