New medtech regulations delayed after European Parliament vote

The European Parliament has approved a proposal from the EU Commission to delay the implementation of new medtech regulations until 2021. This is to lessen the pressure on the industry during the corona crisis.

The medtech industry and notified bodies in Europe will now have more time to prepare themselves for the new medtech regulations (MDR) which involve stricter requirements for manufacturers of medical equipment, among other things.
