Novo Nordisk chases competitive edge with new versions of GLP-1 tablet
Danish drug group Novo Nordisk has initiated a study with several new formulations of a tablet version of the GLP-1 molecule semaglutide. It can potentially decrease the company's production costs, change the pricing of the drug and not least, improve the side-effect profile.
Not only is Novo Nordisk working to conclude a comprehensive phase III program for an oral version of semaglutide to market a product in the next few years - the Danish drug group has also started testing several new oral formulations of the molecule.
