Lundbeck sues generics firms: ”The time and money would have been better spent in the laboratory”

Lundbeck has sued five companies aiming to develop generic versions of the drug group’s bestselling antidepressant Trintellix. Lundbeck representative says the Danish company could do without the court cases but is forced to take legal action.

Danish drug group Lundbeck has set its US lawyers working after launching a patent infringement lawsuit against five generics companies. However, the company denies having initiated the legal disputes and says it would prefer to be spared the trouble.

“We are forced to go to court. We would rather not. We did not initiate this process even though we are the ones to file the suits,” says Mads Kronborg, Senior Director, Corporate Communication in Lundbeck. He adds:
