Researchers from the University of Copenhagen have discovered two vital characteristics in a substance from the South African genera Crinum and Cyrtanthus.
Previous studies carried out by the group confirmed that the plants have an effect on the brain mechanisms related to depression. But now they have also shown that the lilies contain plant substances with suitable characteristics, which allow them to pass through the near-impenetrable blood brain barrier.
