Sonova-owned hearing company plummets on top and bottom lines – survives at the mercy of owner

Danish firm Advanced Bionics has had a smaller revenue and has generated a smaller income than the year before. Having lost last year's tender for implants, the company continues to struggle and now survives at the mercy of its owner, which has promised to support it for a year, starting at the time of the fiscal report in March.

Just like last year, the Danish subsidiary to Sonova-owned Advanced Bionics, has not been able to maintain the growth of previous years in the most recent fiscal year for selling Cochlear implants, which is the firm's focal point.

The Denmark-based company had to settle for second place, when the winner of the first national tender for cochlear implants was announced in 2018 with three competitors – and the firm is still affected by this defeat.
