Former Novozymes staff revive shelved technology and anticipate million-dollar sales

A group of former Novozymes employees have founded their own biotech company to continue development of a medical technology based on hyaluronic acid. Novozymes scrapped the technology in 2015 but the new company has high aspirations.

Eight former employees at Novozymes still believe in an otherwise shelved medical technology - so much that they have founded their own start-up to continue developing it.

The new company, Hyamedix, aims to develop research tools and medicines based on hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan. Novozymes experimented with the formulation in the beginning of the 2010s but gave up the project in 2015.
