William Demant admits misleading marketing after million-dollar fine

Hearing device group William Demant fully acknowledges its mistakes in two Australian subsidiaries that are now being fined a two-digit million sum due to misleading marketing practices.

Hearing device manufacturer William Demant Holding lies down flat and acknowledges its responsibility in a case of unlawful marketing in Australia that resulted in fines of AUD 2.5 million (USD 1.79 million) for the Australian subsidiaries Oticon Australia and Sonic Innovation.

"The case solely involves the Australian market where the marketing campaign ran for a couple of months during the summer 2017," explains Trine Kromann-Mikkelsen, Vice President, Corporate Communication & Relations in William Demant.
