Gitte Pedersen became her own boss: ”There are no glass ceilings in a house you build yourself”

Closed, informal and male-dominated networks protecting and promoting themselves prevent women from pursuing a top career in the life science industry. This is according to Danish Gitte Pedersen, who took the matter into her own hands and founded her own company in New York.

Danish life science is dominated by a conspicuous gender bias that prioritize men for desirable management positions instead of at least as qualified women.

This is according to Danish engineer and biotech entrepreneur Gitte Pedersen. After a long career in Novo Nordisk, she co-founded the diagnostics company Genomic Expression and today, she is CEO with a view over Manhattan.
