Hørsholm is the epicenter of alliance of pharma giants

Two of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies have joined forces in a new collaboration based on knowledge and technology from a Danish biotech company.

On the surface, the former Santaris Pharma has lead an obscure life since Roche acquired the Danish biotech company for DKK 1.4 billion (approximately USD 225 million) in 2014.

But shortly before Christmas, the silence was broken when Boehringer Ingelheim announced that a year-long dialogue with the Danes had finally resulted in a collaboration deal on developing new treatment options for inflammatory intestinal diseases.
